The Book of Commentary
بَابُ قَوْلِهِ: {وَلَقَدْ كَذَّبَ أَصْحَابُ الْحِجْرِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ}:
Chapter. The Statement of Allah:“And verily, the dwellers of Al-Hijr (Rocky Track, i.e., Thamud people) denied the Messengers.”(V.15:80)

حدثنا إبراهيم بن المنذر، حدثنا معن، قال: حدثني مالك، عن عبد الله بن دينار، عن عبد الله بن عمر رضي الله عنهما، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال لاصحاب الحجر:" لا تدخلوا على هؤلاء القوم إلا ان تكونوا باكين، فإن لم تكونوا باكين، فلا تدخلوا عليهم، ان يصيبكم مثل ما اصابهم".
Hum se Ibrahim bin Musa ne byaan kiya , kaha hum ko Hisham bin Yusuf ne khabar di , unhein Ibn Jareer ne khabar di , kaha ke mujhe Yala bin Muslim aur Amr bin Dinar ne khabar di Saeed bin Jubayr se , donon mein se ek apne saathi aur digar rawi ke muqabla mein baaz alfaz zyada kehta hai aur un ke alawa ek aur sahab ne bhi Saeed bin Jubayr se sun kar byaan kiya ke unhon ne kaha hum Ibn Abbas razi Allahu anhuma ki khidmat mein un ke ghar hazir thay . Unhon ne farmaya ke deen ki baatein mujh se kuch poocho . Main ne arz kiya: Ae Abu al-Abbas! Allah Aap par mujhe qurban kare Kufa mein ek waa-iz shakhs Nauf naami (Nauf Bakali) hai aur woh kehta hai ke Musa , Khidr alaihissalam se milne wale woh nahi thay jo Bani Israeel ke paighambar Musa alaihissalam huay hain (Ibn Jurayj ne byaan kiya ke) Amr bin Dinar ne to riwayat is tarah byaan ki ke Ibn Abbas ne kaha dushman e Khuda jhooti baat kehta hai aur Yala bin Muslim ne apni riwayat mein is tarah mujh se byaan kiya ke Ibn Abbas razi Allahu anhuma ne kaha ke mujh se Ubayy bin Kabb razi Allahu anhu ne byaan kiya , kaha ke Rasool Allah salla Allahu alaihi wasallam ne farmaya ke Musa alaihissalam Allah ke Rasool thay ek din Aap ne logon (Bani Israeel) ko aisa waaz farmaya ke logon ki aankhon se aansu nikal pare aur dil paseej gaye to Aap wapas jaane ke liye mure . Is waqt ek shakhs ne in se poocha: Ae Allah ke Rasool! Kya duniya mein Aap se bara koi aalim hai ? Unhon ne kaha ke nahi , is par Allah ne Musa alaihissalam par itab nazil kiya , kyunke unhon ne ilm ki nisbat Allah Ta'ala ki taraf nahi ki thi . (un ko yun kehna chahiye tha ke Allah hi jaanta hai) . In se kaha gaya ke haan tum se bhi bara aalim hai . Musa alaihissalam ne arz kiya , Ae Parvardigar! Woh kahan hai . Allah ne farmaya jahan (Faaris aur Room ke) do darya milay hain . Musa alaihissalam ne arz kiya: Ae Parvardigar! Mere liye un ki koi nishani aaisi batla de ke main in tak pahunch jaoon . Ab Amr bin Dinar ne mujh (Ibn Jurayj) se byaan kiya ke Allah Ta'ala ne farmaya , jahan tum se machhli tumhari zanbeel se chal de (wahin woh milein ge) aur Yala ne hadees is tarah byaan ki ke ek murdah machhli saath le lo , jahan is machhli mein jaan par jaye (wahin woh milein ge) Musa alaihissalam ne machhli saath le li aur usay ek zanbeel mein rakh liya . Aap ne apne saathi Yoosha se farmaya ke main bas tumhein itni takleef deta hoon ke jab yeh machhli zanbeel se nikal kar chal de to mujhe batana . Unhon ne arz kiya ke yeh kaun si bari takleef hai . Isi ki taraf isharah hai Allah Ta'ala ke irshad «wa izh qaala Musa lifataahu» mein woh «fata» (rafeeq e safar) Yoosha Ibn Noon thay . Saeed bin Jubayr (rawi e hadees) ne apni riwayat mein Yoosha bin Noon ka naam nahi liya . Byaan kiya ke phir Musa alaihissalam ek chatan ke saya mein thehar gaye jahan nami aur thand thi . Is waqt machhli tarpi aur darya mein kood gayi . Musa alaihissalam so rahe thay is liye Yoosha ne socha ke Aap ko jagana na chahiye . Lekin jab Musa alaihissalam bedar huay to machhli ka haal kehna bhool gaye . Isi arsa mein machhli tarap kar pani mein chali gayi . Allah Ta'ala ne machhli ki jagah pani ke bahao ko rok diya aur machhli ka nishan patthar par jis par se gayi thi ban gaya . Amr bin Dinar ne mujh (Ibn Jurayj) se byaan kiya ke is ka nishan patthar pe ban gaya aur donon angoothon aur kalma ki ungliyon ko mila kar ek halqa ki tarah is ko bataya . Bedar hone ke baad Musa alaihissalam baqi din aur baqi raat chalte rahe . Aakhir kehne lage . Hamain ab is safar mein thakan ho rahi hai . Un ke khadim ne arz kiya . Allah ne Aap ki thakan ko door kar diya hai (aur machhli zinda ho gayi hai) . Ibn Jurayj ne byaan kiya ke yeh tukra Saeed bin Jubayr ki riwayat mein nahi hai . Phir Musa alaihissalam aur Yoosha donon wapas laute aur Khidr alaihissalam se mulaqat hui (Ibn Jurayj ne kaha) mujh se Usman bin Abi Sulayman ne byaan kiya ke Khidr alaihissalam darya ke beech mein ek chhotay se sabz zeen-posh par tashreef rakhte thay . Aur Saeed bin Jubayr ne yun byaan kiya ke woh apne kapre se tamam jism lipeite huay thay . Kapre ka ek kinara un ke paon ke neeche tha aur doosra sar ke tallay tha . Musa alaihissalam ne pahunch kar salam kiya to Khidr alaihissalam ne apna chehra khola aur kaha , meri is zameen mein salam ka rawaj kahan se aa gaya . Aap kaun hain ? Musa alaihissalam ne farmaya ke main Musa hoon . Poocha , Musa Bani Israeel ? Farmaya ke haan! Poocha , Aap kyun aaye hain ? Farmaya ke mere aane ka maqsad yeh hai ke jo hidayat ka ilm Aap ko Allah ne diya hai woh mujhe bhi sikha dein . Is par Khidr alaihissalam ne farmaya ke Musa kya Aap ke liye yeh kafi nahi hai is ka poora seekhna Aap ke liye munasib nahi hai . Isi tarah Aap ko jo ilm haasil hai is ka poora seekhna mere liye munasib nahi . Is arsa mein ek chariya ne apni chonch se darya ka pani liya to Khidr alaihissalam ne farmaya: Allah ki qasam! Mera aur Aap ka ilm Allah ke ilm ke muqable mein is se zyada nahi hai . Jitna is chariya ne darya ka pani apni chonch mein liya hai . Kashti par charhne ke waqt unhon ne chhoti chhoti kashtiyaan dekhein jo ek kinare walon ko doosre kinare par le ja kar chhor aati thien . Kashti walon ne Khidr alaihissalam ko pehchan liya aur kaha ke yeh Allah ke salih bande hain hum in se kiraya nahi lein ge . Lekin Khidr alaihissalam ne kashti mein shigaaf kar diye aur is mein (takhton ki jagah) keelein gaarr dien . Musa alaihissalam ne kaha Aap ne is liye isay phaar dala ke is ke musafiron ko dubo dein . Bilashubha Aap ne yeh bara nagowar kaam kiya hai . Mujahid ne aayat mein «imran» ka tarjuma «munkaran» kiya hai . Khidr alaihissalam ne farmaya main ne pehle hi na kaha tha ke Aap mere saath sabr nahi kar sakte . Musa alaihissalam ka pehla sawal to bhoolne ki wajah se tha lekin doosra bataur shart tha aur teesra qasdan unhon ne kiya tha . Musa alaihissalam ne is pehle sawal par kaha ke jo main bhool gaya is par mujh se muakhizha na kijiye aur mere muamla mein tangi na kijiye . Phir unhein ek bacha mila to Khidr alaihissalam ne usay qatl kar diya . Yala ne byaan kiya ke Saeed bin Jubayr ne kaha ke Khidr alaihissalam ko chand bache milay jo khel rahe thay Aap ne in mein se ek bacha ko pakra jo kafir aur chalak tha aur usay lita kar chhuri se zibah kar diya . Musa alaihissalam ne farmaya , Aap ne bila kisi khoon ke ek be-gunah jaan ko jis ne ke bura kaam nahi kiya tha , qatl kar dala . Ibn Abbas razi Allahu anhuma aayat mein «zakiyyatan» ki jagah «zaakiyatan» parha karte thay . Bamaani «muslimatan» jaise «ghulaman zakiyyan» mein hai . Phir woh donon buzurg aage barhay to ek diwar par nazar pari jo bas girne hi wali thi . Khidr alaihissalam ne usay theek kar diya . Saeed bin Jubayr ne apne hath se isharah kar ke bataya ke is tarah . Yala bin Muslim ne byaan kiya mera khayal hai ke Saeed bin Jubayr ne byaan kiya ke Khidr ne diwar par hath pher kar usay theek kar diya . Musa alaihissalam ne farmaya ke agar Aap chahte to is par ujrat le sakte thay . Saeed bin Jubayr ne is ki tashreeh ki ke ujrat jise hum kha sakte . Aayat «wa kaana wara'ahum» ki Ibn Abbas razi Allahu anhuma ne qirat «wa kaana amamahum» ki yani kashti jahan ja rahi thi is mulk mein ek baadshah tha . Saeed ke siwa doosre rawi se is baadshah ka naam Hudad bin Budad naqal karte hain aur jis bacha ko Khidr alaihissalam ne qatl kiya tha is ka naam log Jaysoor byaan karte hain . Woh baadshah har (nayi) kashti ko zabardasti chheen liya karta tha . Is liye main ne chaha ke jab yeh kashti is ke samne se guzre to is ke is aib ki wajah se usay na chheene . Jab kashti wale is baadshah ki sultant se guzar jayein ge to woh khud usay theek kar lein ge aur usay kaam mein laate rahein ge . Baaz logon ka to yeh khayal hai ke unhon ne kashti ko phir seesa laga kar jorra tha aur baaz kehte hain ke taar-kol se jorra tha (aur jis bacha ko qatl kar diya tha) to is ke walidain momin thay aur woh bacha (Allah ki taqdeer mein) kafir tha . Is liye hamain darr tha ke kahin (bara ho kar) woh unhein bhi kufr mein mubtala na kar de ke apne larke se intihaayi mohabbat unhein is ke deen ki ittiba par majboor kar de . Is liye hum ne chaha ke Allah is ke badle mein unhein koi naik aur is se behtar aulad de . «wa aqraba ruhman» yani is ke walidain is bacha par jo ab Allah Ta'ala unhein de ga pehle se zyada behtar meherban hon jise Khidr alaihissalam ne qatl kar diya hai . Saeed bin Jubayr razi Allahu anhu ne kaha ke in walidain ko is bache ke badle ek larki di gayi thi . Dawood bin Abi Aasim rahmahullah kai rawiyon se naqal karte hain ke woh larki hi thi .
